I am staring into the eyes of God,
and see myself mirrored.
I am scared to look into this mirror,
but the lack of acknowledging yourself does not serve me or my endeavours.
Listen to me, my friend;
for you have been gifted.
You have acquired a gift through life-long turmoil and resilience:
the gift of introspection.
The gift that must be used as a tool of survival;
the gift that gives power to others that know how to use it.
You must embrace it,
or it will hinder you;
regardless if you know it at the time,
or not.
The gift of introspection can be a curse;
though,
only to the minds of those that choose not to embrace it.
It is for you to decide which it is.
It can be both;
it can be neither.
You can let it wither away like most others,
or you can let it bloom like few do.
You can let it bloom to your advantage;
for embracing the gift of introspection will give you a perspective most others cannot comprehend.
--a perspective outside of your own.
Having an outside perspective may cause great sadness;
for you see the dysthymic reality most call home.
Be comfortable with the wavelengths you call silence;
for those that can settle within themselves are most at home.
Constructing a place you call home,
there are no wolves that can blow it down.
Having found the security of peace within,
the gift of introspection is shining.
With the gift of introspection,
you must acknowledge there are those that wish to feed you apples.
With the gift of introspection,
you must acknowledge some of those apples are fermented by the passing of time.
With the gift of introspection,
you must know when to feed yourself fruitfully,
and when to let the famine ensue.
With the gift of introspection,
you will learn there those that wish to cause you great harm.
With the gift of introspection,
you already know who those people are.
I am staring into the eyes of my own,
and see myself mirrored.
Embrace what you see in this mirror,
for it is a gift that will serve you and your endeavours.
